Our Mission
To transform hydrocarbon recovery through technology that unlocks new production and makes previously deferred reserves commercially accessible. Onshore, offshore and subsea.
Our Companies
Innovation through experience
The Captec team has extensive experience from the oil and gas industry. They have encountered many of the challenges that the current state of oil- and gas technology faces, both on location and in the boardroom.
Their resolve in advancing oil and gas technology resulted in the RoboRig™ being created, and since 2014 three companies were born:
Robotized Drilling and Workover Technology
Rigtec develops RoboRig™, a modular technology platform designed to simplify and automate drilling, workover and pipe handling operations across land rigs and offshore installations.
Challenge
Conventional drilling and workover operations rely on large equipment spreads, extensive manual pipe handling and complex rig infrastructure. This drives cost, personnel requirements and operational complexity, particularly when existing installations are not designed for conventional drilling equipment.
Our Solution
RoboRig™ replaces conventional rig and pipe handling functions with compact, automated modules. Robotic handling, controlled movement and integrated operations enable a smaller footprint, reduced personnel exposure and more efficient workflows. The technology can support both complete drilling and workover systems and dedicated applications such as rigless pipe handling for Coiled Tubing Drilling.

Riserless HWI from vessel
Rigtec Wellservice is developing RoboRig™ Subsea, a compact robotic intervention system designed to enable riserless Heavy Well Intervention from a vessel. The concept bridges the capability gap between conventional light well intervention and rig-based heavy intervention.
Challenge
Many subsea wells require intervention capabilities beyond wireline and coiled tubing, while conventional HWI often depends on a semisubmersible rig. This results in high operating cost, complex logistics and limited access to economically viable intervention.
Our Solution
RoboRig™ Subsea brings pipe handling and heavy intervention capability directly to the subsea well. Deployed from a vessel and operated without a conventional marine riser, the system is designed to support operations such as sand cleanout, milling, plug work, well access and P&A preparation while reducing dependence on semisubmersible rigs.
Autonomous Shock and Vibration Suppression Technology
Capshell aims to develop a 4.0 generation solution for managing downhole shock and vibration to meet the demands of modern drilling, enhancing durability, tool reliability, and drilling efficiency across varied well conditions.
